Constructivist tool for learning

Constructivist designers develop learning tools and software which is much different than the standard drill and practice or linear presentations we have used in the past. The constructivist was introduced by Piaget(1981) and Bruner (1990). They gave stress to knowledge discovery of new meaning/concepts/principles in the learning process. Moreover, knowledge is constructed by the individual learners in constructivism, knowledge can also be socially constructed.


Construction tool
Construction tool is to work cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge. The computer itself can be used for manipulating information, visualizing one's understanding, and building new knowledge. It is an application that helps the learner to manipulate information, visualize one's understanding and construct one's own knowledge. The Microsoft word computer program itself is a desktop publishing software that allows users to organize and present their ideas in attractive formats.

a) concept map program
b) Desktop publishing program
c) Word, spreadsheet, and powerpoint
d) Social networking sites (Blogs/facebook/ twitter), and
e) Simulation


Procedural steps for creating simulating advertisement to attract visitors using  PowerPoint presentation program.

a) Open the PowerPoint presentation
b) Go to google and search images of your Dzongkhag such as an image of the Dzong, and so on.
c) Right click and click on 'save as' images from Google on the desktop of your computer.
d) Insert the images on the power-point presentation
e) Insert sound and let it till the end of the slide.
f) Add design such as animated images, sound, and effects of the images.
g) Go to the 'animation pane'.
h) Select the 'custom path' and add to the images.
i) Go to the picture tool 'format' to change the design.
j) Then, change the timing/ duration of the sound.
k) Press Ctrl + A and select all the animation
l) Right click and select with previous.
